Donations make this work possible, and help keep dogs in homes and out of shelters around the country.
This is actually free and there is no limit to the number of times you work with your trainer. This are no strings attached, totally free dog training and behavior support. That being said, we are a nonprofit and always appreciate donations.
Your first consultation will be with a Lead Trainer who will be your trainer. All Lead Trainers are certified through both the Free Dog Trainers program and through an internationally recognized organization. Your Lead Trainer will work with you to design your training plan, and continue to check in to help troubleshoot and make sure you're seeing the progress you want to be seeing.
The capacity of our public programs are limited, and due to demand appointments are usually booked at least 4-6 weeks out. If you need help sooner, contact your local shelter or rescue and help them get a partnership started. Shelters and rescues with partnerships have urgent availability for clients they refer.
Free Dog Trainers currently works exclusively remotely via phone or video chat. We do not offer "board and train," or any similar service. We want your dog to learn from you. If you need in-person support, we can work with you to help you select a qualified trainer who can provide in-person services.
